About StephenjCarroll
Classically trained from the age of seven, Stephen achieved a scholarship to study the organ under the metropolitan Cathedral organist Liverpool. At the same time he studied composition, harmony, polyphony and orchestration.
Since the age of eighteen he has played with contemporary rock bands, latterly specialising in jazz, funk and soul music.
As a composer, his styles are varied but favour ambient rock, jazz rock, R & B, hip hop, dance, ethnic and a fusion of modern with classical music, developing how classical and contemporary music can work in harmony.
